March’s calendar features a photo I took during my travels to Ireland. It is from the Gardens of Powerscourt mansion with the beautiful hills of Wicklow County behind them.

I had the wonderful opportunity to visit Ireland a while back and was able to be in Dublin for the big St. Patrick’s Day parade. It was an amazing trip for me, partially because I have some Irish in my heritage and partly because it felt so amazing just to be in Ireland. It’s one of those places I’ve always dreamed about going. Besides spending time in Dublin, we also ventured about to beautiful Wicklow County. This area of Ireland actually has been used for a backdrop for many movies and television shows.

Besides being picturesque, Wicklow County has a fascinating mansion with some beautiful gardens called Powerscourt. It was definitely a fun experience walking around the mansion and grounds. I chose the picture of the gardens with the hills in the background for March because it is example of the amazing beauty that Ireland has to offer. We saw many amazing things on our visit to this area besides Powerscourt, for example Glendalough that has an ancient graveyard and old churches. I truly recommend a visit to this area on a trip to Ireland.
