Continuing through this whole year of 2015, I’m offering my free downloadable desktop wallpaper calendars of my artwork every month.
September’s calendar captures the beautiful Lago di Barcis (Lake Barcis).
Lake Barcis is a beautiful lake located in the Dolomites in North East Italy. Nestled in the mountains, this lake is gorgeous from all view points. Sitting next the lake is a charming Italian town that just adds to the view. I had the chance to visit this lake many times because it was located less than an hour from where I use to live in Italy. I will say that the water is really cold so you will only find people swimming in it in the dead of summer. This was our cool off place when I couldn’t handle the heat of Italian summer any longer. Located about an hour from the city Pordenone and maybe two hours from Venice, it is a great place to visit for some natural beauty.
The other reason I picked this picture is the water on certain days is teal in color (as pictured). September is Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month, which is a cause very close to my heart. My mom was diagnosed in 2010. She is doing well but it has been a fight. I encourage everyone to learn as much as they can about this scary disease, because it is scary. There is almost no test to find it and doesn’t have many symptoms. I didn’t know anything about it until we found about about my mother and I want to share this knowledge with as many people as possible. I celebrate every day that I still have my mom in my life!
